Once you have a group created, the next step is to add word lists inside it. Vocab Loco gives you three ways to do this — manually, with AI, or by importing data in bulk.

How to Create a List Inside a Group

Step 1: Open your group

• Go to Word Lists and select the Custom Word Lists tab.
• Click Manage Words on the group card you want to work with.

Step 2: Choose how to create your list

• In the group header toolbar, click Create New List.
• You will see three options. Choose the one that fits your workflow below.

Option A: Create a list manually

• Select Create New List from the menu.
• A new empty list appears in the left sidebar. Type a name for it and press Enter.
• Click the list to open it in the editor and start adding words one by one.

Option B: Generate a list with AI

• Click Generate with AI in the group header toolbar.
• Fill in the 3-step form: set the number of lists and words, define your students' level, and describe the topic or goal.
• Click Generate. Review the results and save the lists you want to keep.

Option C: Import lists in bulk

• Click Create New List and choose Add Lists in Bulk.
• Choose your method:
• Paste data — paste your lists directly using the format: LIST NAME, word1, word2, word3
• Upload file — upload a .csv, .tsv, or .txt file with the same format.
• Review the preview table and click Save to confirm.

? Pro Tip: Use AI generation when starting from scratch and you need ideas fast. Use bulk import when you already have your word lists prepared in a spreadsheet or document.

Q: How many lists can I create inside a group?
A: Each group supports up to 60 lists. A progress bar at the bottom of the sidebar shows how many slots you have used.

Q: Can I rename a list after creating it?
A: Yes. Right-click the list name in the sidebar and select Rename.
