Once you have a group and a list created, you can start adding vocabulary. Vocab Loco gives you two ways to add words — one at a time or in bulk.

How to Add Words to a Custom Word List

Step 1: Open your group

  • Go to Word Lists and select the Custom Word Lists tab.
  • Click Manage Words on the group card you want to edit.

Step 2: Select or create a list

  • In the left sidebar, click on an existing list or click Create New List to start fresh.
  • Give the list a name when prompted.

Step 3: Add words individually

  • Type a word in the Add Word field and press Enter.
  • The word is saved instantly along with its part of speech, definition, and example sentence.

Step 4: Or add words in bulk

  • Click the Bulk Insert button.
  • Paste your words separated by commas and click Save.
  • All words are added to the list at once.

? Pro Tip: Use Bulk Insert when setting up a new list from scratch. It is much faster than typing words one by one.

Q: Does Vocab Loco automatically add definitions?

A: Yes. When you add a word, the platform automatically pulls in the part of speech, definition, and an example sentence. You can edit these manually if needed.

Q: What happens if I close the browser while editing?

A: No worries — Vocab Loco saves automatically as you type. Your words will be there the next time you open the list.
