How to Use the Clever Library Resync Feature in Vocab Loco

The Resync student rostering button is available for teachers using Clever Library. It updates your Vocab Loco classroom roster to match your current Clever roster, so newly added or removed students in Clever are reflected in Vocab Loco.

How to Resync your classroom roster from Clever


Step 1: Launch Vocab Loco from Clever Library
Log into your Clever Library portal and launch Vocab Loco by clicking the app icon.


Step 2: Go to Students and click Resync

  • Go to the Students page.
  • Click Resync student rostering.
  • Your roster will update based on the latest data in Clever.


? Pro Tip: After resyncing, use the Students page filters (search, grade, section) to quickly find students and deactivate or manage roster entries as needed.



When the Resync button is disabled

If the Resync button is disabled, it will appear in red and cannot be clicked. There are two main reasons why this happens:


1. The teacher did not launch Vocab Loco from Clever Library

  • The teacher must open Vocab Loco directly from the Clever Library portal.
  • Logging in from a bookmark, shortcut, or directly from the Vocab Loco website may not create the live Clever connection needed for syncing.


2. A Super User is logged in as the teacher

  • Super Users cannot trigger a Clever resync on behalf of teachers.
  • The sync must be performed by the actual teacher after launching the app from Clever Library.



How to fix it

To activate the Resync button:

  • Log out of Vocab Loco completely.
  • Go to the Clever Library portal.
  • Launch Vocab Loco by clicking the app icon.
  • Go to Students and confirm the Resync student rostering button is now blue and clickable, then click it.



Tooltip display

If the Resync button is disabled, you will see a tooltip on hover explaining why:


"Only the teacher can resync their roster. They must log into their account and open the app directly through Clever Library to enable syncing. If the button is disabled, it will appear red."
