The Students section is where you can add students (including bulk upload), edit student information, remove students from your class, log in as a student, print parent letters and login cards, and track progress.
How to Manage Students
Step 1: Go to Students
- From your Teacher Dashboard, click Students in the left sidebar.
- This opens your class roster, where you can manage student accounts and access classroom tools.
Step 2: Add a new student
- Click Add new student.
- Fill in the required fields: First Name, Last Name (or first initial), and Grade.
- Optional fields: Parent Email and Student Group (select a group if you have created one under Student Groups).
- Under Access Information, set the student login: Unique Username and Password.
- Click Save to finish.
⚠️ Note: If your account uses Clever or ClassLink rostering, the Add new student option may be disabled. In that case, student changes must be managed through your SSO rostering platform.
Step 3: Add students in bulk (optional)
- Click Add students in bulk.
- Upload a .xlsx, .xls, or .csv file, or paste CSV-formatted data.
- Use this format per line:
firstname, lastname, username, grade, password - Click Import Students.
Step 4: Search and manage students
- Use the filters above the roster table to find students faster:
- Search students by name or group.
- Filter by Grade
- Filter by Section (if enabled for your roster)
- Click Actions next to any student to open all available options.
At the top of the Students page, you can also use:
- Parent Letter — prints letters for all students (confirmation required).
- Print Student Login Cards — if available for your account type.
All Actions options: What each one does
View progress
Opens the student's progress report so you can track learning and activity completion.
Edit student (if available)
Opens the edit form to update student info such as name, grade, student group, username, and password. This option may be disabled for Clever/ClassLink-managed rosters.
Remove from class
Removes the student from your class so they no longer appear in your Students list. You will be asked to confirm before the removal is completed.
Parent Letter
Generates a printable parent letter for that individual student, including access instructions where applicable.
Logs you into the student's account in a new tab — useful for troubleshooting and seeing what the student sees. This option may be hidden if the student is inactive.
⚠️ Note: The exact options shown inside Actions can vary depending on how your roster is managed. If an option is not available, it may be managed by your rostering platform instead.
