How School Years Work on Your Student Dashboard

Vocab Loco organizes your progress by school year. When a new school year begins, your activity starts fresh for that year — but nothing from previous years is deleted. You can always go back and see what you earned, which tests you took, and which badges you collected in any past year. Your data is always there, sorted by the year it happened.

Where You See School Year Tabs

On some pages, you will see tabs near the top of the screen that let you switch between school years. Each tab shows the name of a school year and a label:

This year — the current active school year. This is where new activity is being recorded.

Past — a previous school year. Click any past tab to see your data from that time.

The tabs only appear if you have data from more than one school year. If you have only been in Vocab Loco for one year, no tabs will appear and everything you see is from the current year.

Reports

On the My Reports page, switching to a past school year shows all your grades, test results, and activity from that period. Selecting a report while a past year is active filters all the data to that year only.

Badges

On the My Badges page, switching to a past year shows which badges you earned during that school year and when you earned each one. Badges you did not earn during that year appear in the available section, just as they did at the time.

Avatars

On the My Avatars page, switching to a past year lets you see the avatars that were available and which ones you unlocked during that time. Past year avatars are shown for viewing only — you cannot select them as your active avatar. Only avatars from the current school year can be chosen. To change your active avatar, switch back to the current year tab.

Certificates

On the Certificates page, switching to a past school year shows the certificates you earned during that period. You can still view and download them at any time.

Notifications

On the Notifications page, switching to a past year filters your notification history to that school year, so you can look back at activity from any specific period.

What Carries Over Between School Years

Banked Words carry over and are not reset when a new school year begins.

Activity points restart at zero with each new school year. Points from past years are still visible when you select that year.

Game coins may or may not reset depending on your teacher's or school's settings.

Badges, certificates, avatars, reports, and notifications are always kept and viewable by selecting the matching school year.
