A: There are a few reasons a student might not be able to see an assigned word list. The most common one is the assignment toggle being turned OFF.
Check the ON/OFF toggle
Each word list assignment has an ON/OFF toggle visible on the assignment card in the Assigned Lists tab. When the toggle is set to OFF, the list is hidden from students — they cannot see it or access any of its activities, even if they are assigned to it.
To fix this, go to Word Lists, open the Assigned Lists tab, find the assignment, and switch the toggle to ON. The change takes effect immediately.
When a list is turned OFF, the assignment card displays an OFF ribbon instead of the Assigned badge. This makes it easy to spot which assignments are currently hidden from students.
Other reasons a list may not be visible
If the toggle is already ON and students still cannot see the list, check the following:
- Schedule mode and date window: If the assignment is in Schedule mode, students can only access a list during its scheduled date range. If today's date is before the start date or after the end date, the list will not appear.
- Progress mode and locked lists: In Progress mode, students must pass the test in the current list before the next one becomes available. If a student has not passed the previous list yet, the next one will remain locked.
- Student not assigned: Confirm that the specific student is included in the assignment. Open the assignment and check the student list to make sure their name is there.
