A Resource Teacher is a read-only account that Super Users can create for specialists, coordinators, or administrators who need to monitor student progress without managing a classroom. Resource Teachers access only the reports, teachers, and students that the Super User explicitly assigns to them — nothing else.
What Resource Teachers can do: View assigned reports and filter by their permitted students and teachers. What Resource Teachers cannot do: Manage students, create word lists or activities, assign homework, or access any part of the platform beyond the reports panel.
Step 1: Go to Manage Resource Teachers
- From your Super User Dashboard, click Resource Teachers in the left sidebar.
- The page lists all existing resource teacher accounts with their name, email, status, and the number of teachers and students assigned to each.
Step 2: Add a new resource teacher
- Click Add new resource teacher.
- Fill in the account details:
- First Name and Last Name
- Email — used to log in. Must be unique within your Super User account.
- Password — minimum 3 characters. The resource teacher will use this to access their account.
Step 3: Assign teachers, students, and reports
- In the Assign Students to Resource Teachers section, expand each teacher you want to grant access to.
- For each teacher, configure two things:
- Students — click Select All Students to grant access to everyone under that teacher, or choose individual students by name.
- Reports — click Select All Reports to grant access to every available report, or select only the specific report types you want this resource teacher to see.
- Repeat for each teacher the resource teacher should have visibility into. A summary shows X/Y students and X/Y reports per teacher as you make selections.
Pro Tip: You can assign different report types per teacher — for example, giving a reading specialist access only to the List Progress report for one teacher, while giving a coordinator full access to all reports for another.
Step 4: Save and share access
- Click Save. The resource teacher account is created and a welcome email is sent automatically with their login credentials.
- The resource teacher logs in through their own portal and can immediately access the reports and students assigned to them — and nothing else.
- To update permissions at any time, return to Resource Teachers, click Edit on the account, and adjust the teacher, student, or report assignments.
Q: Can I temporarily disable a resource teacher account without deleting it? A: Yes. Use the status toggle on the Resource Teachers list page to deactivate the account. The resource teacher will lose access immediately and can be reactivated at any time.
Q: How many resource teachers can I create? A: There is no limit on the number of resource teacher accounts under a Super User account.
