A: Both are read-only accounts that let other people in your organization view data in Vocab Loco without making changes. The key difference is scope: Super Viewers see everything you see as a Super User, while Resource Teachers see only the teachers, students, and report types you specifically assign to them.
What Is a Super Viewer?
A Super Viewer has access to all the same reports you see as a Super User — school-wide data across all teachers and students. You cannot limit which teachers or report types they see. It is an all-or-nothing view of your organization's data.
Super Viewers set their own password through an invitation email sent automatically when the account is created. Their email address cannot be changed after the account is set up.
What Is a Resource Teacher?
A Resource Teacher has access only to the teachers, students, and report types you explicitly assign. You can grant access to one teacher's classroom and a specific set of reports, or configure a different combination for each specialist.
The password is set by you during account creation and sent to the Resource Teacher in a welcome email. The email address and password can be updated at any time from the Edit screen.
Key Differences
Report access
- Super Viewer: all school-wide reports, the same view as the Super User.
- Resource Teacher: only the report types you select, filtered by assigned teachers and students.
Granular permissions
- Super Viewer: no — access is all-or-nothing.
- Resource Teacher: yes — you choose which teachers, students, and report types each person can see.
Password setup
- Super Viewer: the viewer sets their own password through an invitation email.
- Resource Teacher: you create the password; credentials are sent via welcome email.
Email address
- Super Viewer: cannot be changed after the account is created.
- Resource Teacher: can be updated at any time.
Which One Should I Use?
Use a Super Viewer when the person needs visibility into your entire school's data with no restrictions — for example, a principal or district coordinator reviewing overall progress.
Use a Resource Teacher when the person should only see specific classrooms or students — for example, a reading specialist assigned to a subset of students across two teachers' rosters.
Can I Have Both?
Yes. You can create as many Super Viewer and Resource Teacher accounts as needed. Both are managed from the left sidebar in your Super User account — Super Viewers and Resource Teachers each have their own dedicated page.
