Vocab Loco includes typing activities that reinforce vocabulary while building students' typing speed, accuracy, and confidence — all in a fun, game-style format. Typing games are turned off by default and need to be manually enabled in the assignment settings.
How to Enable Typing Games for a Word List
Step 1: Go to Word Lists
- From your Teacher Dashboard, click Word Lists in the left sidebar.
Step 2: Open the Lists Assigned to Students tab
- At the top of the page, select the Lists Assigned to Students tab.
- You will see all of your currently assigned word lists.
Step 3: Access the activity settings
You can reach the activity settings in three ways:
- Option A: Click Settings at the bottom of the group card, then select Edit Assignment. In the modal, select Activities (step 3).
- Option B: Click the Activities counter (e.g., "9 on · 24 off") on the group card. This opens the activity overview modal directly — you can toggle activities on or off from this modal without entering the full assignment editor.
- Option C: Click the group card image. In the What do you want to edit? modal, select Activities (step 3).
Step 4: Go to Modules
- In the activity settings, scroll down until you find the Typing Modules section.
- You will also see Vocabulary Modules and Spelling Modules listed above it.
Step 5: Enable the typing games
- Toggle the games you want to turn On. Available typing games include:
- Blast Typing
- Jump Typing
- Hop Typing
- For each game, select the days of the week it should be available to students.
