How to Create a Custom Word List in Vocab Loco

Creating your own word list lets you tailor lessons for your students and organize vocabulary by grade, theme, or difficulty. Follow the steps below to build your first list in minutes.

Step 1: Go to “Word Lists”

From your Teacher Dashboard, click Word Lists in the left sidebar to open your word list manager.

Step 2: Select “New List”

In the My Custom Word Lists tab, click the + New Group for Lists button to create your first custom list group.

Step 3: Name Your List

A pop-up box appears. Type the name of your new word list (for example, Lesson 1) and click OK.

Step 4: Add Words

Type a word in the Add Word field and press Enter. The word automatically appears in your list, along with its part of speech, definition, and example sentence.
Your list saves automatically—no need to click a Save button.

? Pro Tip

To quickly build long lists, click Bulk Insert to paste multiple words at once. Each word should be on a new line.

? Common Question

Q: What happens if I close my browser before finishing?
A: No worries—Vocab Loco automatically saves as you type. The next time you open your custom list, everything will still be there.
