If you're using Vocab Loco with subject-specific vocabulary (like science or social studies), it's important to make sure each word reflects the correct meaning. Some words, like bark or cell, can have multiple meanings — and the activities in Vocab Loco may use definitions, sentences, synonyms, or antonyms to build questions.
To give you full control, we've added a feature that lets you customize all three — not just the definition.
✅ How to Edit Definitions, Sentences, Synonyms, and Antonyms:
Go to your Word Lists
Click on Manage Custom Word Lists
Click Edit next to your word list group
Find the word you want to update
Click the ✏️ Edit button (see image below)
Adjust the Definition, Sentence, Synonym(s), and Antonym(s) as needed
? Example:
✅Where Do These Show Up?
Definitions are used in definition-based activities.
Sentences/Synonyms/Antonyms may appear in modules like Word Pop, Multiple Choice test, and Vocabulary Bee.
If the sentence, synonyms or antonyms don’t match your intended meaning, it can lead to confusing results for students — especially for homonyms (like bark). Customizing them ensures students are seeing content that aligns with your instruction.
✅ Good to Know:
All modules will pull from your custom entries.
If a synonym/antonym is left blank, the activity will skip it — so you can also choose to remove misleading entries instead of replacing them.
Updates take effect immediately.
