After assigning a word list, you can still make changes — add or remove students, turn activities on or off, and adjust the schedule. You can also unassign individual students or remove the entire assignment at any time.
Step 1: Go to Assigned Lists
- From your Teacher Dashboard, click Word Lists in the left sidebar.
- At the top of the page, select the Assigned Lists tab to see all your active assignments.
Step 2: Open Edit Assignment
- Find the assignment you want to change. Click the ⋮ Settings button on the card.
- In the menu, click Edit Assignment. The assignment form will open with your current settings already filled in.
Step 3: Add or remove students
- Go to Step 2 – Students in the form.
- Check the box next to any student you want to add to the assignment. Uncheck any student you want to remove.
- When done, advance through the remaining steps and save.
Step 4: Turn modules on or off
- Go to Step 3 – Activities in the form.
- Use the toggle next to each module (e.g., Vocabulary, Spelling, Writing, Tests) to turn it ON or OFF for this assignment.
- To change which days a module is available, select an option such as Weekdays only, Weekends only, or pick individual days from the calendar.
- When done, advance through the remaining steps and save.
Step 5: Remove a single student
- On the assignment card, click the Students button (e.g., "15 Students"). A panel will open listing everyone assigned to that word list.
- Find the student and click Remove next to their name.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes, remove to confirm.
Step 6: Remove the entire assignment
- On the assignment card, click ⋮ Settings and select Remove Assignment.
- A warning will appear confirming that this will remove the list from all assigned students. Your word lists will not be deleted.
- Click Yes, remove assignment to confirm. The assignment will be permanently removed.
? Pro Tip: If you only need to remove one student quickly, use the Students button on the card — it's faster than opening the full edit form.
Q: Can I change which word list is assigned after saving? A: No. The word list selection is locked after the first save. To assign a different list, remove the current assignment and create a new one.
Q: What happens if I remove the last student from an assignment? A: The entire assignment is deleted. A warning will appear before this happens so you can cancel if needed.
Q: Can I update the schedule while editing an assignment? A: Yes. Step 4 of the edit form lets you update or reset scheduled dates for any student without starting the assignment over.
