How to Schedule Word Lists by Date Range in Vocab Loco

Created by Vocab Loco, Modified on Fri, 8 May at 11:32 AM by Ace Turner

Scheduling lets you control exactly when each word list becomes available to students. Instead of releasing everything at once, you can set a Start and End date for each lesson — keeping your class on pace and hiding content that isn't ready yet.

Step 1: Reach Step 4 of the assignment

  • Open an assignment and advance through the wizard until you reach Step 4 – Schedule. This is the last step before finalizing the assignment.

Step 2: Select the students to schedule

  • In the schedule table, check the box next to each student you want to apply dates to. To schedule all students at once, use the checkbox at the top of the table to select everyone.

Step 3: Open the Schedule Lessons modal

  • Click the Bulk Schedule Selected button at the top of the table. The Schedule Lessons dialog will open, showing all the lessons included in this assignment.

Step 4: Select the lessons to schedule

  • Check the box next to each lesson you want to assign dates to. To select all lessons at once, use the Select All Lessons checkbox at the top of the list.
  • The Group Scheduling section will appear, showing how many lessons are currently selected.

Step 5: Set the Start and End dates

  • In the Group Scheduling section, fill in both the Start Date and End Date fields.
  • Click Apply to Selected to assign those dates to all the lessons you checked.
  • Each lesson will update to show a Scheduled badge confirming the dates were applied.
  • If you need different date ranges for different lessons, uncheck the current selection, select the next group of lessons, enter new dates, and click Apply to Selected again.

Step 6: Apply the dates and confirm

  • When all lessons have the correct dates, click Apply in the bottom-right corner of the dialog.
  • A confirmation message will appear showing how many lessons were scheduled, and the schedule table will update automatically.
? Pro Tip: If all lessons share the same dates, use Select All Lessons and fill in the dates once — Apply to Selected will update everything in one click.
Q: What happens to lessons I leave without dates? A: If at least one lesson in the assignment is scheduled, any lesson without a Start and End date will be automatically hidden from students until dates are set.
Q: Can I use a past date as the Start Date? A: No. Both the Start and End dates must be today or later. Past dates are not accepted.
Q: Can different students have different date ranges for the same lesson? A: Yes. Select only the students you want in Step 2, set their dates, then repeat the process for other students with different dates.
