Q: Why are coins, games, and badges part of a vocabulary program?

Because at Vocab Loco, even the lessons feel like games! Our interactive, gamified lessons are so fun and engaging that students often forget they’re practicing vocabulary—they just know they’re having a great time.

To keep the energy high, we’ve added more ways to motivate and reward students. They earn coins for completing activities, which they can use to unlock just-for-fun games on our Game Page—each with high scores to chase and brag about.

Our contests encourage both individual and classroom achievements, adding friendly competition and real prizes to the mix. As students progress, they collect badges, customize their avatars, and most importantly—build real word mastery.

Even review is something to look forward to, thanks to Zoodle House, our virtual pet experience where students earn Zoodle Minutes for passing review tests. It turns repetition into something rewarding.

The goal? A positive learning loop where students are self-motivated, celebrated, and excited to turn everyday word lists into lifelong vocabulary.
